Tetrapak printed cards

Learn the technique of printing with intaglio ink using recycled tetrapak cartons.

In this festive workshop you will use example images to create your own unique design to adorn a set of five beautiful Christmas cards. If you have an idea in mind, please bring along any images which will inspire you (and others). You will also produce a smaller design (or several if you’re a fast worker!) to be printed on a set of gift tags to make all your presents look extra special.

The intaglio ink you will be using is a bit sticky so please bring an apron if you don’t want to get messy. I will provide wipes for your hands, and there is a sink for hand washing at the end.

  • Learn how to transfer designs onto the tetrapak ready for printing.

  • See how to apply the correct amount of ink and how to press it through the rolling press to realise your final products.

  • Learn about design composition and how to create an effective image.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
