Dickensian Christmas decorations

Get ready to step back in time and immerse yourself in a Christmas past workshop! It’s all about nostalgia, a warm friendly atmosphere and taking it easy with some simple traditional Victorian crafts to make by candlelight and with some old festive tunes to hum along to. The Victorians simply LOVED Christmas and adorned their trees with edible treats, candles and all things twinkly. In this workshop you will

· Learn how to gild whole walnuts with gold leaf, before adding a hook and a ribbon to make tree decorations.

· Crack walnuts in half to fill the centres with gems.

· Make a beautifully fragrant pomander to fill your house with the smell of Christmas.

· Make a sweety cone to hang on your tree. Using a variety of Victorian printed papers, music sheet, lace, and metallic sheets, layer it up to create a fabulous design.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities. Book below.

Tickets are £37.50, a £5 deposit is required upfront, and the remainder can be paid on the night. Book below. All bookings include materials, equipment, and a small selection of snacks and soft drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring your own alcohol if you’d like some tipple.
