Learn the technique of printing with intaglio ink using recycled tetrapak cartons.
Have a go at drypoint etching, but using recycled tetrapak cartons instead of copper sheets for a sustainable solution.
During this workshop you will be shown how to draw your house (or any other image you have in mind), transfer that drawing onto the tetrapak and scratch out your drawing using a drypoint etching needle.
You will then use intaglio ink and a roller press to produce several images of your design, experimenting with different paper types.
The intaglio ink you will be using is a bit sticky so please bring an apron if you don’t want to get messy. I will provide wipes for your hands, and there is a sink for hand washing at the end.
Learn how to transfer designs onto the tetrapak ready for printing.
See how to apply the correct amount of ink and how to press it through the rolling press to realise your final products.
Learn about design composition and how to create an effective image.
